How To Survive During Turbulent Times
by Ellae Ellinwood
I love the Chinese character for chaos. It also means opportunity. And as everything shifts and changes life is, trust me, filled with opportunities. Our job is to resonate with them instead of resonating with concern, worry and fear. The following series of steps I suggest will build up your 'muscle' for these times. These are ancient tools that have helped many to shape their life.
Water Update
In previous News & Views articles I reported on the number of concerns raised recently about the safety of our drinking water... from the number of toxins and chemicals found in water, as well as recent concerns about drinking bottlled water because of chemicals leaching from the plastic. I reviewed a number of different water filtration options, such as reverse osmosis and distillation, both of which seemd to have their pros and cons. (See News & Views Archives)
We finally made the decision to purchase a reverse osmosis system from Culligan Water, as their Aqua-Cleer Advanced Drinking Water System. We choose this system as it has an optional monitor light on the base of the faucet that lets you know when the filter needs replacement. Not knowing when the filter needs changing is one of the negatives of a reverse osmosis system, so this feature elminatest that problem. We’ve been using the system for a couple of weeks and are very happy with the quality and purity of the water. Formore information you can visit www.culligan.com. I have no association with Culligan and have accepted no compensation to promote their products. Feel free to email me if you have any questions, andrea@healwithhope.com.
A New View: Unusual Treatment Options
Here are a few unusual treatment ideas I recently came across that I thought you might find of interest, especially if you are searching for a new & unique approach to healing:
EMDR:
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing
EMDR is a form of therapy that uses rapid eye movement to quickly heal many emotional problems that might take years with more traditional methods, according to its originator, Francine Shapiro, PhD.
EMDR has been successful in treating PTSD, trauma, childhood wounds including abuse, irrational thoughts, fears, phobias and panic anxiety. More recently its benefits for chronic pain, asthma and learning disabilities is being explored.
The theory is that eye movement may somehow triggers the natural healing process that reverses the effect of altered brain chemisty that may occur due to trauma.

Blowing Bubbles to Heal
Sherry Lebed Davis and her brothers who are doctors,
created a fun and easy program for those recovering from breast cancer, Parkinson's, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, weight control, and senior fitness issues. The program is taught at hospitals, wellness centers, and fitness clubs, and involves exercise, healing dance, and movement therapy - including blowing bubbles - to increase flexibility, work on balance, and to reduce the side effects of surgery.

HAVING SURGERY?
